Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Stable Manager organizes and manages all aspects of the daily care for a herd of 94 horses stabled and at grass within the Horsemanship program.  Responsible for the daily management of up to 16 rider/grooms and the second shift grooms (4) including all scheduling of working patterns 7 days a week and reporting. Works collaboratively with the Director of Horsemanship to ensure Culver maintains a fit and healthy herd to deliver the required training in all outputs.

REQUIREMENTS: 
•    At least 8 years of experience in stable yard management with over 50 horses.
•    A degree in equine management or equine science is preferred.
•    Must be an effective communicator, able to interact in a professional manner
•    People management experience leading a team of 12+ employees. This includes hiring, development, coaching, performance management, and employee engagement. 
•    Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations.
•    Effective planning and organizational skills.
•    Computer proficiency.
•    Current valid driver's license, trailer/CDL license preferred, clean driving record.
•    Available for travel on overnight trips.
