Documents business logic and metric definitions, and investigates questions raised by sales leaders or identified through exploratory analysis.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
  • Builds, tests, and maintains sales datasets, dashboards, and reporting assets for recurring reporting, executive requests, and field sales decision-making.
  • Develops Power BI reports, semantic models, and self-service analytics experiences focused on clarity, usability, performance, and adoption.
  • Uses SQL, Databricks, Python, and related tools to extract, transform, validate, analyze, and automate sales data across source systems.
  • Validates transformations, calculations, metric definitions, and business logic to ensure outputs are accurate, reusable, and structured for downstream analysis.
  • Documents data definitions, reporting logic, limitations, quality checks, and process steps so users and analytics partners can understand and trust outputs.
  • Investigates questions brought forward by sales leaders or surfaced through exploratory analysis, including trends, risks, opportunities, outliers, productivity drivers, and performance patterns.
  • Performs ad hoc analyses and recurring reporting for planning, forecasting, territory strategy, customer growth, pipeline management, pricing, and executive business reviews.
  • Supports advanced analytics use cases, including segmentation, clustering, customer lifetime value, regression, forecasting, and propensity modeling, by preparing data, testing assumptions, interpreting outputs, and summarizing implications.
  • Monitors and troubleshoots data quality issues, including missing attributes, inconsistencies, logic errors, and anomalies that may impact reporting or analysis.
  • Works with Sales, Sales Strategy, Finance, Operations, IT, Data Services, and other partners to clarify requests, align on definitions, and deliver practical outputs.
  • Uses Databricks AI/BI, Power BI, generative AI, and other modern analytics tools where appropriate to accelerate analysis, prototyping, documentation, and insight generation.
  • Prepares clear summaries, dashboards, and presentations that connect analytical findings to business implications and next steps.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Nature and Scope
  • Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.
  • Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to the expected results. Determines and develops an approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.
  • May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc. Contributes to employees' professional development but does not have hiring or firing authority.

Work Environment

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time.

Education and Experience
  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 5-8 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.

  • Experience with Databricks or similar cloud-based analytics platforms for data transformation, exploration, modeling, and reporting support.
  • Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, automation, validation, and building repeatable analytical workflows.
  • Experience in data validation, cleansing, transformation, documentation, and governance, including metric definition and data quality standards.
