Reporting directly to the CEO of this Family Business Office, Controller manages all financial
operations, general accounting, and internal controls for a high-net-worth portfolio. This position
is a fully on-site role located in Tulsa, OK, bridging private wealth infrastructure with personnel
operations by directing complex cash management across multiple entities and leading the
internal Human Resources function.
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly sophisticated, discreet, and strategically minded Family Office
Controller to report directly to the CEO on-site at our Tulsa office. Managing a diversified
portfolio spanning real estate, investments, and oil and gas (O&G), you will serve in a key
leadership position to the CEO, overseeing multi-entity accounting, optimizing high-volume
liquidity positions, and leading our Human Resources infrastructure to support family office
staff.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Financial Reporting
• Report directly to the CEO, providing clear financial analysis, variance insights, and
strategic operational guidance.
• Manage full-cycle accounting for multiple legal entities, trusts, LLCs, and philanthropic
foundations.
• Oversee specialized asset accounting, including real estate property financials, tenant
billings, accounts receivable and O&G joint interest billings (JIB)/revenue distributions
• Track investment portfolio performance on private equity distributions and tax planning
• Partner with external CPAs on tax returns and planning, calculation of estimated tax
payments, K-1 generation, and trust compliance.
• Design and deliver consolidated financial dashboards for the CEO
High-Net-Worth Cash Management & Treasury
• Monitor daily cash balances across dozens of entity-specific bank accounts to optimize
yield and cash flows.
• Execute fund movements between entities while maintaining intercompany accounting
documentation
• Manage banking relationships
Human Resources
• Administer the company's employee benefits programs
• Handle personnel decisions, hiring, background screening, onboarding, and employee
relations with strict privacy protocols
Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation is highly preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a multi-generational family
office, wealth management firm, or Oklahoma-based energy/real estate sector.
• Strong working knowledge of investment structures, partnership accounting, real estate,
and O&G assets.
• Proven experience independently managing corporate HR functions, payroll systems, and
benefits programs.
• Experience directly supporting an executive leader or family principals in a high-touch
environment.
• Proficiency in family office software (e.g, Creative Solutions Accounting, Yardi,
QuickBooks Enterprise, or specialized HRIS/payroll tools).
• Elite tracking skills, high discretion, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
