POSITION SUMMARY

The Bumper Mounter will fabricate and install standard bumpers and cab step enclosures to satisfy the needs of customers. They will meticulously review specifications for bumper extensions and fulfill customer needs. The Bumper Mounter will determine that each bumper compartment can adequately accommodate the fire hose by calculating cubic feet. Furthermore, they will clean, modify, and sand cab step enclosures for optimal safety.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All employees are required to support Rosenbauer’s Mission, Vision, and Values.  The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer. 

  1. Fabricates custom bumpers and cab step enclosures.
  2. Thoroughly looks over specs for bumper extensions and complete customer requests.
  3. Verifies that bumper compartment can properly fit the hose by figuring cubic feet.
  4. Cleans, bends, and sands cab step enclosures to ensure safety.
  5. Utilizes an iron worker and basic hand tools to complete daily tasks.
  6. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’S):

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Experience in welding and metal fabrication preferred.

Skills:

Language:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Math:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic inspection tools, machining skills or related fields.
  • Able to recognize the importance and adhere to all safety policies to promote a safe working environment.
  • Able to read and work from blueprints/spec book.
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and tape measure.
