Position Description
Under the direction of the Director of Specialty Products, the candidate will be responsible for managing the sales efforts of asphalt chemical additives such as Warm Mix additive (WMA), Liquid anti-strip (LAS) and Less Tracking emulsion additive to Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) producers, DOT's and other industry consumers.
Essential Functions:
The following list is intended to be exemplary of the demands of the position, however it is not exhaustive of all day-to-day functions. The incumbent will be required to perform any or all of the following in a given day, week or season:
  • Responsible for promoting the sale of Specialty additives.
  • Effectively communicate with customers, suppliers, DOT's, Agencies and Company employees verbally, in person, telephone, electronic mail, written correspondence including spreadsheets, and other computer-generated presentation and financial tools.
  • Frequent overnight travel between locations, and customers.
  • Work with DOT's and agencies to identify opportunities and implement Company Specialty product lines.
  • Resolve customer inquiries in the most efficient manner.
  • Performs any functions necessary, within scope of authority and expertise, to ensure that the highest level of service and responsiveness is achieved.
  • Respond to requests from customers for information, participate in presentations, engage in technical discussions with potential customers
  • Responsible for maintaining a sales book and oversee sales forecast, budgeting and reporting of the numbers for their area and region of responsibilities in conjunction with Manager of Specialty Products.
  • Clear understanding of financial key metrics of his sales book such as revenues, margins, and profits per unit of sales.
  • Provide field support for customer projects as needed.
  • Attend Industry Conferences to promote Specialty Products.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Work in unification with SPG partner (Zydex) to grow market share of products.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
  • The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree or have equivalent industry experience. A minimum of two years of experience in the construction/HMA industry is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of PG grade asphalt and asphalt emulsions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities, especially in a remote work environment.
  • Must be able to manage deadlines effectively while working independently.
  • Successful completion of a drug screening is required.
  • Valid Driver license

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and use hands, reach with hands and arms, handle, feel, see, talk, listen, hear and smell. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to ten pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Independent Action:
Performs work independently within scope of established guidelines and practices. Consults with the Director of Specialty Products where clarification or exception to procedure may be required.
