Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Overall management and supervision of accounting and finance matter. These include:
    • System needs and enhancements
    • Accounting process improvements
    • Supervise staff accountants and direct their daily activities
    • Responsible for the timely and accurate financial reporting
    • Maintaining financial records
    • Preparation/Review of account reconciliations on monthly basis
    • Preparation/Review of journal entries
    • Analyzing income statement and balance sheet accounts
    • Preparation/Review of bank reconciliations
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP financial reporting
    • Establish/Update/document accounting procedures as necessary
    • Assure that all accounting transactions are properly authorized
    • Establish/Review/Update internal controls
    • Oversee/Manage external financial audit process and compliance
  • Become the expert in the Financing and Leasing entities
  • Assure the timely and accurate filing and payment of all federal and state tax filing for sales tax, personal property tax, Federal Excise Tax, Ad Valorem Tax etc.
  • Present financial reporting and potential risk areas to senior management
  • Assure system controls are reviewed and maintained. Initiate system enhancements and reporting as needed to efficiently maintain operational reporting and compliance
  • Operating Metric Development focused on Financing and Leasing -Development and track on a daily/weekly/monthly basis for the key metrics needed to maximize the efficient operation of the business
  • Supervise/Perform audits to assure compliance with company policies
  • Oversee the compliance of all bank reporting related to the Financing and Leasing entities
  • Attend business meetings and partner with Leadership as appropriate for the Financing and Leasing entities
  • Manage the budget process for the Financing and Leasing entities
  • Assist in the budget process for all other entities
  • Manage Financial record retention policy
  • Interface with outside audit firm(s), banks and lessors, casualty/liability insurance agent(s), credit card companies and collection agencies
  • Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, and accurate and highly productive manner according to company policy
  • Contribute to the team effort to produce a quality product
  • Attend scheduled work hours on a regular and timely basis. Maintain good attendance
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Work and communicate in a team environment
  • Other duties may be assigned as required by the Company

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting is required
  • Licenses/Certifications:
    • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience, including previous management responsibilities.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
    • Strong communication, organizational, technology and leadership skills
    • Strong financial analytical skills related to credit analysis
