Role: Outside Sales Specialist

The Outside Sales Specialist is responsible for developing new business opportunities while growing and maintaining relationships with existing customers within an assigned territory. This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers, driving sales growth through relationship building, consultative selling, and exceptional customer service. The position requires a combination of field sales, branch collaboration, and market development to support Liberty Roofing Center's continued growth.

Job Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing customers while actively developing new business opportunities
  • Grow sales through prospecting, cold calling, networking, and lead generation
  • Conduct regular customer visits and jobsite meetings to identify customer needs and provide solutions
  • Promote Liberty's products, services, vendor programs, and promotional offerings
  • Prepare quotes and recommend products that maximize customer value and profitability
  • Collaborate with vendor representatives on joint sales opportunities and customer visits
  • Manage an active sales pipeline and develop territory growth strategies
  • Partner with Branch Management to review sales performance, market opportunities, and business goals
  • Resolve customer concerns and ensure exceptional customer service throughout the sales process
  • Assist with pricing recommendations, project quotations, and promotional programs
  • Support customer account management, including payment follow-up and credit coordination when needed
  • Work closely with branch operations to communicate inventory needs, special orders, and customer requirements
  • Attend company meetings, training sessions, trade events, and industry associations as needed
  • Share market intelligence and best practices with teammates while supporting a collaborative sales environment

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of outside sales, account management, or business development experience
  • Experience in building materials, roofing, construction, industrial distribution, or a related industry preferred
  • Proven ability to develop new business while growing existing customer relationships
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building abilities
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM or sales management software
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel throughout the assigned territory
