\n The Outside Plant Engineer will be responsible for the application engineering of telecommunications<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n outside plant in a local serving exchange environment. The Outside Plant Engineer is a subject matter<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n expert of for all technical aspects of outside plant facilities and associated work such as cable sizing,<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n cable counts, cable records and permitting for ROW's and easements. This position works as a team
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n member with Network Planning, Central Office, Transmission and Operations to support the growth,<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n replacements, and upgrade of telecommunications plant facilities.<\/span>
\n <\/div>\n

\n Frontline project management for all construction activities associated with outside plant activity.<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n Engineering design for outside plant all projects locally<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n Engineering design and activity support for the ZFB Build projects<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n Proactive review of outside plant facilities to determine necessary upgrades and enhancements.<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n Communicate with state, county, city, and national indices to gain information on planned projects<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n that involve growth and changes.<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n Coordinate with all utilities for project design and construction to utilize joint trench.<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n Communicate with all peers and departments to insure proper project planning.<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n Maintain accurate cable records and updates.<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n Attend pre construction meetings for project designs.<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n Apply for all permits as required (State, DNR, City, County, Townships).<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n Maintain and investigate ROW's and easements for releases.<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n Prepare cost estimates for BDT's.<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n Respond to DOR's as needed.<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n Update records according to As\-Builts.<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n Support sales, marketing, operations and regulatory as needed.<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n Assist in annual budget design.<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n Performs other duties as required to support the business and evolving organization.<\/span>

\n Qualifications:<\/span>

\n Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience required.<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n Minimum of 3 years' experience in an outside plant position required.<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n Outside plant construction project management experience and inventory management<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n experience.<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n Experience in ROW, private easement and permitting with local, state, and federal entities.<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of outside plant design, cable count layout, and<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n capacities.<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.<\/span>
<\/span>\n <\/div>\n
\n Must complete a pre\-employment drug screening.<\/span>
