Job Summary:

The Vice President will be an experienced leader with deep technical acumen in program management, Outside Plant (OSP) engineering and telecommunications network operations. You will be responsible for delivering superior operational performance across all asset classes, including field engineering, OSP network engineering, fiber optic link engineering, permitting and network commissioning. The VP is responsible for supporting business objectives through entrepreneurial spirit that encompasses business development, operations, the use of technology to improve process and accuracy, and building an industry best in class team of associates.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop the growth and business objectives for the OSP business focused on network infrastructure, data center interconnections, fiber to the home, long-haul plus metro networks.
  • Create and implement strategic vision for the organization and provide the leadership and subject matter expertise to assure the consistent execution of this vision.
  • Establish strong relationships across the organization with key partners and constituents, specifically deployment services, engineering, network development and compliance, to meet the teamโ€™s goals and objectives,
  • Enhance and ensure a culture of safety and ethical compliance across a diverse workforce.
  • Oversee the management and implementation of large-scale projects and service contracts.
  • Maintain and enhance a strong service-oriented environment for both internal and external customers, focused on problem prediction, detection, and resolution.
  • Identify areas of new business opportunities; develop the business case, proposals, and implementation plan for these new ventures.
  • Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and municipal regulations for owned/managed assets and personnel.
  • Maintain and update disaster recovery procedures and protocols.
  • Develop and manage the operations budget.
  • Implement improved processes, which utilize technology, to improve jobs, processes, training, tools, and overall work quality.

  • Exceptional strategic and problem-solving skills to effectively influence decision making in key negotiations.
  • Solid understanding and familiarity with telecommunications industry technologies, with a clear plan to stay abreast of technological advancements.
  • Background in optical networks, network design, civil engineering right of way and permitting, optical performance engineering, drafting and design, and OSP construction methodologies.
  • Understanding of data center infrastructure and communications, including the installation and maintenance of ILA/Edge data centers and campus build outs.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying talent and building individual and management capability. Proven track record of building successful organizations.

Education and Experience:

  • 10+ years of telecommunications and/or network operations experience, including management of multi-layered teams.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required; masterโ€™s degree preferred.
  • Technology experience implementing and improving systems and processes for OSP engineering.
