Lead the Future of Telecommunications Infrastructure

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Outside Plant Manager to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for our telecommunications outside plant operations. This key leadership role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of our fiber, broadband, and telecommunications infrastructure while leading a talented team dedicated to serving our members and customers.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong telecommunications experience, a commitment to safety, and a passion for developing high-performing teams.

What You'll DoOperational Leadership
  • Lead all outside plant operations, including installation, maintenance, repair, and restoration of fiber, coaxial, copper, wireless, and transmission facilities.
  • Provide leadership and direction to supervisors and operational teams.
  • Monitor workloads, staffing, project priorities, and operational performance.
  • Ensure exceptional service quality, network reliability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Support emergency response and outage restoration efforts.
Team Development
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and safety-focused work environment.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors and team members.
  • Support workforce planning, employee engagement, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Identify and coordinate training and professional development opportunities.
Safety & Compliance
  • Promote a strong culture of workplace safety.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, telecommunications standards, OSHA regulations, and DOT requirements.
  • Support safety training, inspections, and incident response activities.
Infrastructure & Continuous Improvement
  • Evaluate operational processes and infrastructure performance.

  • Coordinate contractor activities and project oversight.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and cost management.
Budget & Resource Management
  • Assist with departmental budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning.
  • Manage operational budgets for subordinate departments.
  • Monitor inventory, equipment utilization, and purchasing needs.
  • Ensure effective stewardship of company resources.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressively responsible telecommunications outside plant operations experience.
  • Strong knowledge of telecommunications construction, maintenance practices, and network infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and make sound operational decisions.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational software systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Construction Management, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Two or more years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Experience with fiber optic broadband operations.
Work Environment
