Coordinator of Adult Faith Formation and Outreach

The Coordinator of Adult Faith Formation and Outreach works to lead others within and outside the parish through different forms of outreach, teaching, forming, accompanying, equipping and guiding them on their faith journey; supports the Pastoral Coordinator, collaborates with other staff, committees and volunteers to develop education, outreach, and encounters with Jesus Christ that help form and equip missionary disciples.
RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for creating a culture that inspires disciples to grow in their faith and helps equip them to make disciples of others. This position supports the pastoral coordinator in implementing a discipleship-centered vision for missionary parish ministry. The coordinator will collaboratively foster processes that develop and include all aspects of the discipleship process and include clear pathways forming and equipping missionary disciples through such things as follows:
• Speakers/Special Events: Organize and promote special events and speakers for evangelization and adult faith formation.
• Discipleship Small Groups: Work to further develop, implement and expand the leadership of parish small group ministry.
• Community Outreach: Collaboratively organize and engage parishioners in parish and community wide monthly Corporal Works of Mercy activities.
• Co-Chair the Christian Kindness Crew Ministry: Meeting monthly, September- May- Organize and implement different activities that promote stewardship within our church community and beyond.
• Volunteer Coordinator: Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to help with some of the above tasks.
Qualifications of the ideal candidate:
• An engaged and practicing Catholic passionate about serving the Church and the mission of "leading all souls to the kingdom of God," with a broad knowledge and understanding of Catholic doctrine, teaching, and tradition.
• A bachelor degree or equivalent with life experience in teaching and leading others.
• Previous ministerial experience desirable; Missionary Leadership Institute certification or has a similar certification or willing to work towards such certification;
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment; ability to adapt to changing work priorities; ability to communicate well orally and in writing.
• Team player, strong leadership, management and organizational skills
• Demonstrated dependability, punctuality, efficiency and confidentiality; organizational skills with an ability to assist in the handling of many different projects simultaneously.
• Proficient in the use of computers, Microsoft Office and Google applications.
This position is 30 hours per week (60% SMW/40% hours SMO) The position requires evenings and weekends as need arises for parish events and programming.
