The Brick is actively seeking to expand our management team. We need enthusiastic people with a great customer focused attitude! The winning combination of team spirit and desire for career focused growth will ensure a rewarding experience in one of our fabulous distribution centre! This position reports to the Director of Distribution.


  • Ensure staff members are properly trained and retrained according to training guides and procedures
  • Develop employees through coaching, goal-setting conducting performance reviews; assist supervisors with mentorship activities
  • Initiate and implement programs and procedures required to ensure DC safety and cleanliness in all zones
  • Initiate and manage controls with regards to process flow in the Outbound Department; analyze outbound volumes to all locations to ensure efficient loading and picking frequency to maximize efficiency
  • Ensure all equipment is in good order and ensure employees perform pre-shift checks
  • Maintain labour budget and cost per unit; plan and schedule labour on a daily basis and assist in annual labour budget process
  • Manage the store shipping schedule including planning for seasonal changes; communicate and liaise with stores for any and all changes to the schedule that are required
  • Prepare reports, analyze data and make recommendations for improving DC Outbound Reporting
  • Promote employee involvement in employee relations and safety committees
  • Train and develop supervisors, identifying and mentoring high potential candidates
  • Ensure all loads are picked and shipped accurately and damage-free within set time schedules
  • Maintain Outbound accuracy at 97% minimum and conduct reviews with inventory team
  • Ensure compliance with all Brick Group policies and procedures
  • Achieve departmental goals through effective staff management

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post secondary education an asset
  • Minimum 4 years management experience in a diverse warehouse environment, preferably retail; Significant experience using a large Warehouse Management System (WMS) in an inventory controlled environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Working knowledge of materials handling equipment and safe material handling techniques
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
  • Self motivated, high energy and a strong work ethic
  • Superior planning and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and effectively prioritize
