Job description

Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations
  • Oversee daily production activities across assembly, machining coordination, and testing
  • Plan and schedule production to meet delivery timelines
  • Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks, and improve efficiency
  • Ensure proper use of materials, tools, and equipment

Team Leadership
  • Manage and support production staff (assembly, technicians, etc.)
  • Assist with hiring, training, and performance management
  • Foster accountability, organization, and a strong work culture

Quality Control
  • Ensure products meet company and customer quality standards
  • Implement and maintain quality control processes
  • Work closely with engineering on product issues and improvements

Process Improvement
  • Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Improve production systems, documentation, and workflows
  • Drive continuous improvement in efficiency and cost control

Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and software engineering teams
  • Coordinate with purchasing, inventory, and shipping
  • Communicate production status to leadership

Qualifications
Required:
  • 3-7+ years of experience in manufacturing or production leadership
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing small teams (3-10 people)
  • Ability to read technical drawings and work with engineering teams
  • Hands-on mindset-willing to be on the floor, not just behind a desk

Preferred:
  • Experience in electronics, mechanical assembly, or marine/industrial equipment
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or process improvement methods
  • Experience with ERP/inventory systems (QuickBooks Manufacturing a plus)
  • Background in machining or technical assembly environments
