Job Description
Purpose and Scope:
The Outbound Lead is responsible for overseeing all aspects of outbound operations within a warehouse or distribution center. This role plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and timely shipment of goods to customers while maintaining compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of outbound shipping clerks, forklift operators, and other team members.
  • Provide guidance and direction to ensure the accurate picking, packing, and loading of outgoing shipments.
  • Monitor workflow and staffing levels to meet outbound order fulfillment requirements.
  • Oversee the picking, packing, and staging of orders for shipment.
  • Ensure accuracy in order fulfillment and adherence to customer specifications.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, such as inventory control and customer service, to resolve order discrepancies and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule outbound shipments.
  • Ensure proper packaging and labeling of outgoing shipments to comply with shipping regulations.
  • Generate shipping documents and labels, and schedule pickups with carriers.
  • Maintain accurate records of outgoing shipments and inventory levels.
  • Coordinate with inventory control teams to reconcile inventory discrepancies and optimize stock availability for outbound orders.
  • Conduct periodic audits of outbound inventory to ensure accuracy.
  • Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure the integrity of outgoing shipments.
  • Conduct inspections of packed orders to verify accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
  • Address any quality-related issues or concerns to maintain customer satisfaction.
