Join Our Team as an Attorney at Axiom

We are seeking a Derivatives Counsel to join our Financial Services team. In this role, you will provide expert legal advice and support to our clients in derivatives and OTC trading, ensuring compliance, mitigating risk, and facilitating seamless transactions. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with leading clients on ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support Annexes, and other derivatives documentation, shaping legal strategies and supporting global trading operations. This is an existing vacancy.

Responsibilities:
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support Annexes, Master Confirmation Agreements, Term Commitment Agreements, Account Control Agreements, and other derivatives trading documents.
  • Providing legal guidance on derivatives transactions, collateral management, and OTC trading compliance.
  • Collaborating with trading desks, Front Office, Legal, Compliance, and Credit teams on derivatives transactions and regulatory initiatives.
  • Managing legal, risk, and compliance issues for clients in the derivatives and financial services sector.
  • Staying ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and global derivatives rules to provide proactive counsel.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in derivatives, capital markets, or trading documentation legal work.

  • Strong knowledge of ISDA agreements, CSA, and global OTC derivatives regulations.

  • Proven track record of advising clients on derivatives documentation and regulatory compliance.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, technology, and problem-solving skills.

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and licensed to practice law.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with prime brokerage documentation, account control agreements, and regulatory initial margin requirements.
  • Familiarity with cross-border derivatives regulations including U.S. Dodd-Frank, EMIR, UK, Canadian, and Singapore frameworks.
  • Comfortable supporting global trading operations and multiple time zones.
Compensation:

The estimated total compensation for full-time Axiom attorney roles is $104,500-325,000 per year and for non-attorney roles is $71,250-309,750 per year. Compensation decisions are based on various factors, including, but not limited to, experience, skills, certifications, location, and business needs.  Employees may be eligible for additional benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance; paid holidays and PTO; flexible work arrangements; and professional development opportunities and tools.
