Description
The Energy Systems Field Specialist is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and optimizing computerized Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC control systems. This role focuses on ensuring commercial building systems operate efficiently while reducing energy consumption and improving occupant comfort.
The specialist performs preventive and corrective maintenance, software and hardware upgrades, controls optimization, and system troubleshooting while supporting customer facilities throughout the Bay Area.
This is an excellent opportunity for military veterans with HVAC, electrical, electronics, controls, or building systems experience who want to build a career in the growing Building Automation and Energy Management industry.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building automation systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair DDC (Direct Digital Control) systems
  • Analyze HVAC and building control system performance
  • Optimize building automation systems to improve efficiency and comfort
  • Perform software and hardware upgrades on control systems
  • Troubleshoot electrical and electronic control circuits
  • Review project plans, engineering drawings, specifications, and sequences of operation
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and reports
  • Support customers by identifying and resolving building control issues
  • Ensure work complies with project requirements and existing site conditions

Must-Have Skills & Experience
  • HVAC and/or mechanical systems knowledge
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems
  • Knowledge of basic electrical circuits
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability
  • Computer skills and interest in technology-based systems
  • Valid California Driver's License with clean driving record
  • Ability to work independently in customer-facing environments
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
