What you will do
Role Overview:
The Origination Senior Associate works under the guidance of the EVP of Origination and will focus on understanding large load interconnection structures with utilities and ISOs to support the commercial strategies across North America. The role will leverage market analytics and commercial expertise to evaluate data center growth trends, utility and RTO tariffs, transmission interconnection developments, federal and state policy trends, and behind-the-meter energy solutions so there are seamless product offerings across North America.
Main responsibilities:
  • Analyze large-load growth trends, data center market developments, utility tariffs, and ISO market design changes to identify new business opportunities for existing and potential large load customers
  • Collaborate with utility stakeholders and regulatory organizations to track emerging tariffs, large-load interconnection frameworks, and data center energy policies
  • Create presentations, market assessments, financial analyses, and executive-level materials for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Support the C&I Origination team on hyper-scaler RFPs and product solutions
  • Create and present deliverables to both internal and external parties to advance department objectives
  • Monitor emerging trends in AI-driven data center growth, electrification, distributed energy resources, and corporate sustainability procurement strategies

What are we looking for
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Energy Management, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in renewable energy, energy structuring, utility power markets, corporate energy procurement, data center energy strategy, or other energy focused roles
  • Understanding of energy procurement strategies used by hyperscale technology companies and large data center operators
  • Familiarity with utility service tariffs, large-load interconnection processes, transmission planning, and power market design
  • Experience with PPAs, renewable energy procurement, battery storage transactions, and behind-the-meter energy solutions
  • Knowledge of wholesale power markets including CAISO, ERCOT, PJM, MISO, or SPP
  • Experience evaluating load growth opportunities associated with data centers, AI infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, or electrification initiatives

  • Demonstrated competency in commercial origination, customer engagement, strategic problem solving, power markets, and energy technology solutions
