Order Puller

Classification: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor

Direct Reports: NA

Summary

The Order Puller is responsible for collecting stock, recording information about the product and preparing it for shipment to the end user.

Essential Functions/Duties

  1. Observe, follow, and maintain a safe working environment.
  2. Collect orders from designated areas and prepare for the pulling process by reviewing order documents for special instructions and determining how to address them.
  3. Use order documents to fulfil orders using scanners and material handling equipment (when necessary) to select the appropriate product listed.
  4. Once the complete order has been assembled, take it back to the workstation to package and prepare for shipment (packaging, boxing, palletizing, shrink-wrapping, and labeling as appropriate).
  5. Ensure packaged order is taken to shipping area and placed in the appropriate lane, table, etc.
  6. Count/verify stock using various methods including via scanner, scale, manually or using computer.
  7. Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  8. Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and escalate discrepancies or errors.
  9. Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock handling equipment.
  10. Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.

Physical/Cognitive Demands

This is largely a physically active role including walking long distances (over uneven surfaces) to/within our production facility, lifting 50lbs or more, and standing for long periods. Position also requires bending, stooping, squatting or standing as necessary. Cognitive abilities required include deductive reasoning, information ordering, oral comprehension, oral expression, problem sensitivity, written comprehension, and written expression.

This is a full-time position.

Required Education and Experience

  1. 2 years’ experience in a similar position
  2. Bilingual English/Spanish language skills is a plus
