Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field preferred
Work Experiences
  • 5-7+ years of overall Information Technology experience
  • 5+ years of experience implementing and enhancing Sterling Order Management applications across retail environments
  • 3+ years of experience with the IBM Sterling Order Management Suite, including demonstrated subject matter expertise
  • Experience delivering at least two full lifecycle implementations (requirements gathering, design, development, implementation, and optimization)
Skills
  • Ability to lead full software development lifecycle (SDLC) activities, including requirements, design, build, testing, and implementation
  • Hands-on experience with Java and OMS development, including SOA, XML/XSLT, REST, and JSON
  • Experience with solution estimation and team structure definition
  • Experience working on multiple concurrent projects in an Agile environment
  • Hands-on experience with IBM Sterling Order Management (versions 9.5 and/or 10)
  • Experience with inventory management systems and processes
  • Proficiency with development tools such as Eclipse IDE and SoapUI
  • Experience with SQL databases (e.g., Oracle, DB2); familiarity with NoSQL databases preferred
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA, GitHub, or Bitbucket
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to mentor and support the development of team members
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of IBM Sterling Store and IBM Call Center applications preferred
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership across Sterling Order Management, Web Store, Call Center, and inventory modules
  • Design, develop, and enhance solutions supporting order capture, sourcing, fulfillment orchestration, inventory visibility, payments, cancellations, returns, and customer care workflows
  • Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design documentation
  • Build and maintain integrations between Sterling OMS and external systems, including upstream/downstream applications, cloud platforms, and middleware solutions
  • Improve system stability, performance, and scalability of Sterling OMS applications
  • Conduct design and code reviews and promote development best practices
  • Research and recommend technologies to support the overall technical strategy
  • Participate in full SDLC activities, including sprint planning, estimation, and development sessions
  • Collaborate with developers, QA, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Troubleshoot system and process issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions
  • Develop reusable code and libraries to improve development efficiency
  • Monitor and evaluate new tools, frameworks, and development practices
  • Mentor team members to improve technical capability and overall team performance
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
