Job description

Friendship is looking for Health Care Assistants to join our Friendship team, located in Roanoke and Salem, VA.ย  The Health Care Assistant position provides quality assistance to nursing staff; implements specific procedures and programs designated by facility processes; coordinates work within the department, as well as with other departments; reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responds to inquiries or requests for information and assists the immediate supervisor with tasks to support department operations

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with resident admissions, transfers and discharges as instructed by licensed nurse.
  • Fill water pitchers, make beds, pass trays and empty trash.ย 
  • Report any injuries to supervisor immediately.
  • Attend and participate in continuing education programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in your profession.
  • Ensure resident has adequate supplies and that Orbitz is utilized appropriately for tracking/charging purposes.
  • Provide companion care to residents.
  • Assist CNAs as needed.
  • Assist in dining area and passing meals to residents.
  • Act as runner for supplies for units.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Interest in health care field required
  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must frequently lift or move objects weighing over 50 pounds
