Job description

WXII/WCWG in Winston Salem, NC has an opening for a Media Analytics Director. As Media Analytics Director, you will analyze all impressions and research information to design compelling stories for our sellers, help guide outside promotion, and assist our newsroom in analyzing viewership data. This is a great opportunity to join one of the broadcast industry's most respected companies, Hearst Television. This role utilizes Nielsen software, Marshall Marketing, and Wide Orbit Media Sales. Media Analytics Directors will be engaged in providing relevant research and strategic guidance to the stations' news, programming and creative services departments, while being analytical, creative and proactive. You will report to the General Sales Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Create compelling presentations that promote the marketing power of all of our media platforms
  • Play a critical role in the advertising sales department working with station management on projects and marketing plans as well as sports and specials opportunities
  • You will participate in sales, promotional, and news activities. This includes presentations to clients, station management, and at full station staff meetings
  • Command of multiple software applications using Nielsen research and other qualitative data

Requirements

  • Prior advertising, marketing or broadcast experience preferred but not required
  • Must be analytical, creative and have desktop publishing expertise
  • Must be curious and passionate about consumer and media habits, with a focus on positioning research data in the most positive manner
  • Related military experience will be considered
  • Proficiency in Nielsen software, Wide Orbit Media Sales, and Marshall Marketing a plus
  • Proficiency in Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets) and PowerPoint required
  • Related military experience will be considered
