Job description

HealthPartners is hiring a Principal Oracle HCM Cloud Developer. The Principal Oracle HCM Cloud Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting scalable technical solutions across the Oracle HCM Cloud platform. This role focuses on integration development, data engineering, reporting, and platform extensibility to support critical Human Capital Management (HCM) initiatives.

Serving as a senior technical resource on the HCM Product Team, the Principal Developer builds and maintains integrations, develops complex data extracts, and reports, and delivers technical solutions that enhance and support business processes. The role partners closely with functional and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, development standards, security practices, and operational excellence.

As part of the ERP and Enterprise Systems organization, the Principal Oracle HCM Cloud Developer plays a key role in supporting ongoing product enhancements, strategic initiatives, and a growing portfolio of work. The position also participates in an on-call rotation to provide occasional after-hours support for business-critical systems and operations.

Reporting to the Manager of IT Shared Services, the Principal Developer will be a key member of the HCM Product Team, collaborating closely with other experienced Principal Developers, functional subject matter experts, and Engineers to deliver innovative enterprise solutions that support HealthPartners' workforce and business objectives. While the position formally reports to the Manager of IT Shared Services, the developer will receive the majority of their day‑to‑day work direction, prioritization, and team collaboration from within the HCM Product Team.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Eight (8) years of hands‑on technical experience with Oracle HCM Cloud (Fusion)
  • Eight (8) years of experience in software development, including design, coding, and implementation inclusive of all the following:
    • Technical Development & Integration
      • Experience developing integrations using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC)
      • Experience with REST and SOAP APIs
      • Proficiency with XML, JSON, and XSLT transformations
    • Data & Reporting Engineering
      • Experience with HCM Extracts and BI Publisher
      • Strong SQL skills for data extraction and analysis
    • HCM Technical Configuration
      • Experience with Fast Formulas, Value Sets, and User Defined Tables (UDTs)
      • Understanding of Core HR, Payroll, Benefits, and Absence modules
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Redwood UI and AutoComplete Rules
  • Experience with Visual Builder Studio (VBS)
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion Security Console and HCM role design
  • Familiarity with OCI services and ATP databases
  • Healthcare or health plan IT industry experience
Hours/Location:
  • Monday–Friday; core business hours
  • Participate in an on‑call rotation to support operational and business needs.
  • This hybrid role offers flexibility to work primarily remote. Local candidates are strongly preferred to support occasional onsite meetings, workgroup sessions, and team events.
Compensation Range:
  • $51.85 - $77.77 hourly
    • Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role. Pay within our ranges may also be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities as well as internal equity. Hired candidates may be eligible to receive additional compensation based on role (e.g., shift differential, bonus, sales incentive, productivity pay, etc.).

  • Design, develop, and implement technical solutions within Oracle HCM Cloud, including integrations, extracts, and reports.
  • Build and maintain end‑to‑end integrations using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), REST/SOAP APIs, and file/event‑based patterns.
  • Develop and support HCM Extracts, BI Publisher reports, and data models.
  • Build and configure Fast Formulas, Value Sets, and User Defined Tables (UDTs)
  • Translate functional requirements into technical designs and deliverables.
  • Perform testing and support system and UAT activities.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Optimize performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Support Oracle quarterly, legislative, and monthly security releases.
  • Develop reusable components and support development standards.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance.
