Job description

Talascend is currently seeking an GIS Application Engineer for a remote, contract opportunity with our client. Overview The GIS Application Engineer will support the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of GIS applications for a long-term utility client. The role involves working directly with client teams to provide exceptional GIS support, develop custom modules, and extend core GIS functionalities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities Work directly with client project teams to provide software development services for utility applications Utilize GIS software including ArcGIS, ESRI Field Maps, ESRI Experience Builder, and ArcGISOnline Create and extend GIS modules and tools, including custom extensions and features Develop and manipulate spatial data, update RWO objects, and maintain database accuracy Build custom GIS applications using ArcGIS Engine or Runtime Perform querying, reporting, and spatial data extraction Participate in on-call rotation for support services Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, GIS, or related field; high school diploma with relevant experience may be considered 4+ years of related GIS experience Experience with ESRI GIS software required Proficiency in Oracle and SQL Server databases Ability to multitask effectively in a multi-customer work environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications Experience with GE Smallworld and FME Workbench Programming skills in Magik, Python, C#, or Java Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously Motivated to solve complex technical challenges We thank all applicants for their interest.
