What is a GIS tester?

A GIS Tester is responsible for testing Geographic Information System (GIS) software, applications, and data to ensure accuracy, functionality, and performance. They identify defects, validate spatial data, and create test cases to assess GIS tools and mapping applications. GIS Testers work closely with developers and analysts to ensure quality control in systems used for spatial analysis and mapping. Their role is critical in industries like urban planning, environmental management, and navigation systems.

What does a GIS tester do?

As a GIS Tester, your daily responsibilities may include developing and executing test cases, identifying and documenting software defects, validating geospatial data accuracy, and ensuring functionality aligns with user requirements.
