Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Staff Accountant I solves the critical challenge of maintaining absolute accuracy and integrity across the company's supply chain and corporate inventory records. This role actively mitigates financial discrepancies by executing routine audits, monitoring daily cycle counts, and performing analytical variance reviews. By collaborating across logistics, warehouse operations, and corporate finance, this position bridges physical inventory management with general ledger precision to ensure rigorous compliance. Success in this role requires resolving systemic ledger discrepancies and maintaining internal control structures through diligent financial oversight.
What Success Looks Like (Objectives):
  • Reconcile month-end inventory journal entries and align sub-ledger records to the General Ledger with absolute precision
  • Partner with the Supply Chain department to analyze slow-moving or obsolete inventory and maintain quarterly reserve calculations
  • Perform detailed monthly financial statement variance analyses to investigate and explain warehouse discrepancies
  • Monitor the daily cycle count process and audit exemption approvals to maintain high inventory integrity across corporate warehouses
  • Leverage data analytics and modern AI-powered accounting tools to automate routine workflows and accelerate the month-end close

Skills, Experience and Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills and an eye for detail required to identify and resolve complex corporate ledger and warehouse discrepancies
  • Comprehensive understanding of foundational accounting principles, inventory reconciliation, and internal controls
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, specifically applying VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and SUMIFs to interpret financial data
  • Excellent collaborative and communication abilities to interface seamlessly with both executive teams and warehouse operations staff
  • Robust AI literacy and the ability to utilize digital analytics platforms to optimize financial workflow efficiency
  • Self-motivation and organizational skills needed to meet strict close deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Additional Qualifications:
  • Prior exposure to Enterprise Resource Planning systems, specifically Oracle or similar enterprise ledger applications
  • Familiarity with corporate data analytics software and automated accounting tools to streamline manual workflows

Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field
  • Minimum Experience: 0-2 years of experience in corporate or inventory accounting
  • Required Technical Skills:
    • Intermediate Microsoft Excel functions including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and SUMIFs
    • Foundational General Ledger accounting principles and basic journal entry reconciliation

Compensation: $63,150.00/Year - $90,000.00/Year
