Job description

Eaton's Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a Senior IT Product Owner. The expected annual salary range for this role is $130000 - $190000 a year.

What you'll do:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Owner to support the delivery of our digital customer platform, owning one or more product workstreams within a broader product organization. This role will focus on delivering high-impact, customer-facing capabilities such as eCommerce, customer support, and self-service B2B transactions. Success in this role requires strong collaboration with existing capability and product owners across the Eaton landscape to deliver a unified, end-to-end digital customer journey.
The Senior Product Owner will set and communicate the product vision, develop and maintain the product roadmap, and define key operational processes like the product release schedule. The individual in this role will work closely with business partners and customers to define epics that align with key business objectives for the Scrum or Kanban team.
The Senior Product Owner tracks and manages product funding and defines work priorities for individuals dedicated to the product team. They will balance new features against continuous improvement, system health, and support.
The Senior Product Owner works directly with a team of analysts, engineers and other product team members to execute the product roadmap, guide the product development lifecycle, define user stories, and provide voice of the customer within product processes.
Job Responsibilities
- Define and communicate the product vision, roadmap, and epics to meet customer and business needs
- Own the product backlog, managing and prioritizing user stories, decomposing epics into features, and continuous improvement work
- Plan, manage, and track product funding. Is fully responsible for product budget and profit plan
- Develops and maintains product-specific persona and customer journeys
- Work closely with business stakeholders and customers, understanding their priorities and defining business outcomes and KPIs for the product in collaboration with those key stakeholders
- Communicate goals for product increments and releases. Define goals for team sprints.
- Support the onboarding of internal and external resources
- Accountable for product support, stability, and governance: including data, policy, cybersecurity, and usage
- Act as a functional expert in areas related to the product
- Define product processes (e.g., release schedule) and support process improvement activities across product processes (Lean, Agile, Scrum, DevSecOps, etc.)
- Understand commercial, business and go-to-market strategies where applicable
- Support a Secure Product Development Lifecycle approach that establishes a strong cybersecurity focus and culture across the entire engineering lifecycle
- Manage contracts with software and service vendors to support the product strategy
Qualifications:
Basic (required) Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited insitiution is required
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience as an analyst, project manager, engineer, BRM or program lead on moderate to highly complex technology projects and programs.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Product Owner or equivalent position
- No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of one of the following: Beachwood, OH: Galesburg, MI: Houston, TX Menomonee Falls, WI: Raleigh, NC: Moon Township, PA
-Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience delivering digital self-service capabilities, including portals and external user journeys
- Familiarity with commerce platforms (Salesforce or others) and core processes (catalog, pricing, checkout, order lifecycle, fulfillment, payments)
- Strong understanding of end-to-end customer lifecycle processes (identity, entitlements, quoting/configuration, order management, support)
- Experience in API-first, integration-heavy architectures, including APIs, data flows, and cross-system dependencies
- Understanding of composable/headless architectures and modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular)
- Knowledge of enterprise ecosystems (Salesforce, SAP, Oracle, Snowflake) and platform integrations
- Experience with data models across products, pricing, customers, hierarchy, entitlements, inventory, and orders
- Familiarity with MDM concepts and partnering to ensure data consistency and governance
- Understanding of B2B digital and commerce best practices, including AI-driven and composable solutions
- Ability to collaborate with engineering/architecture on integrations, validation rules, and system design
- Experience building business cases and articulating value of digital investments
- Strong experience in customer journey mapping, partnering with UX/research, and translating insights into roadmaps
Technical knowledge
- Practical knowledge and experience with product management and modern product delivery processes
- Practical knowledge of and experience working with Agile, Scrum, and/or Kanban software delivery teams
- General understanding of DevSecOps principles
- General familiarity with modern software development principles including code management, test automation, APIs, microservices, and cloud services.
- Experience delivering customer-facing digital platforms, such as eCommerce, portals, or service-based applications
- Comfortable with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Figma
