Job description

At Zalat Pizza, we don’t just manage—we coach. As a Restaurant Coach, you’ll lead by example, mentor your team, and drive daily operations to ensure excellence in service, food quality, cleanliness, and team culture. Think of this role as a General Manager with a coaching mindset—focused on developing people, hitting performance targets, and running a smooth, high-volume operation.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and coach your team through every shift to deliver Zalat’s high standards for safety, cleanliness, speed, and quality.

  • Manage all daily operational responsibilities, including scheduling, opening/closing procedures, and executing company checklists (e.g. Jolt, PECs).

  • Oversee purchasing, receiving, inventory control, and accounting processes to ensure operational and financial efficiency.

  • Maintain the facility and equipment, ensuring everything is clean, safe, and functional.

  • Recruit, train, and develop Zealots (our team members), fostering a positive and productive environment.

  • Handle payroll, scheduling, and labor cost management.

  • Monitor customer feedback and coach the team to continuously improve service and satisfaction.

  • Track and optimize controllable costs to meet profitability goals.

  • Uphold all food safety and health standards.

Experience & Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of restaurant management experience in a high-volume environment.

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills (both written and verbal).

  • Must hold or obtain a valid Food Manager Safety Certification.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

    • Successful sign-off by a Certified Training Restaurant (CTR)

    • Completion of all Opus training courses

    • Approval from a Zalat Training Coordinator or Director of Training

      Must complete 5–6 weeks of training at a Certified Training Location, including:

  • Must pass a mandatory background check.

  • Must be available to work high-volume blackout shifts: Halloween (and closest Saturday), Super Bowl Sunday, New Year’s Eve.
