Position Highlights:
  • Outpatient Rheumatology practice with On-Site Infusion Suite
  • Large referring base with backing through the Optum Centers of Excellence network
  • Full-Time (1.0 FTE) working 5 days per week (40 hours)
  • No Call responsibilities
  • Practice would consist of 3-4 people (Physicians and Advanced Practitioners)
  • Services include, but are not limited to Rheumatoid arthritis, Osteoporosis, Connective tissue disease, Gout, Lupus, and Vasculitis.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conduct patient assessments; Perform musculoskeletal and joint examinations; Diagnose and create a care plan to manage conditions; Prescribe / Manage medications, monitor side effects and efficacy, and Adjust treatment plan as needed.
  • Order lab studies and imaging when indicated. Identifies differential diagnosis and assesses severity of patient's illness. Establishes need/time for patient evaluation.
  • Consults with other health team members regarding proposed treatment guidelines as necessary - Implements plan in safe and effective manner. Utilizes sound judgment in the establishment of priorities in patient's care and management. Records visit in concise, clear, logical manner. Evaluates effectiveness of implemented plan.
  • Develops and provides educational materials and/or programs to patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Joint Injections, Joint Aspiration, Infusion Therapy, etc.
  • Maintain detailed clinical documentation and ensure compliance within respective guidelines / protocols while assisting with prior authorizations (as needed).

Required Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in nursing from an accredited university or program or completed Physician Assistant program (accredited)
  • Current, state license to practice in Ohio, or ability to obtain prior to start
  • Board-Certified as a Nurse Practitioner through the ANCC/AANP or as a Physician Assistant through the NCCPA, or ability to obtain
  • DEA license for Ohio, or willing to obtain prior to start
  • BLS certification (minimally) required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in nursing care or relevant medical care

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 1-3 + years of experience as an Advanced Practitioner within Rheumatology
  • Experience working within a team-based model of care (collaborative)
  • Fluency and adaptability in EMR systems & technology
  • Experience with Rheumatic diseases and/or Services associated with this position
  • Comfortability making decisions, creating care plans, and designating responsibilities

Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $109,500.00 - $164,000.00. Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
