Systemone is seeking an experienced Calypso Developer to join our team! In this role, you''ll design, develop, customize, and integrate enterprise trading and risk management solutions built on the Calypso platform, supporting front-, middle-, and back-office operations across multiple asset classes.

Working closely with business stakeholders, solution architects, quantitative analysts, infrastructure engineers, and market utility providers, you''ll develop innovative solutions that modernize trading platforms, streamline business processes, strengthen operational resilience, and support the evolving needs of leading global financial institutions.

This is an outstanding opportunity to work with modern technologies including Calypso, Java, Spring Boot, AWS, microservices, DevSecOps, cloud-native architectures, and enterprise financial integrations, while contributing to large-scale digital transformation initiatives within the Capital Markets industry.

Location: This position is based onsite at a client location in the Salt Lake City, UT area.


Your Future Duties and Responsibilities

As a Calypso Developer, you''ll play a key role in designing and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing trading solutions that support mission-critical Capital Markets operations.

In this role, you will:

  • Design, develop, customize, and support Calypso applications, workflows, extensions, and integrations supporting multiple asset classes, including:

    • Foreign Exchange (FX)

    • FX Options

    • Interest Rate Products

    • Commodities

    • Credit Derivatives

    • Exchange-Traded Derivatives

  • Develop enterprise applications using Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, JBoss (or equivalent application servers), and messaging technologies while following secure software engineering best practices.

  • Design, build, and maintain integrations between Calypso and enterprise applications, market utilities, and third-party platforms, including:

    • DTCC SDR

    • MarkitWire

    • Bloomberg TOMS

    • SEF platforms

    • AcadiaSoft

    • TriResolve

    • WebICE

    • SWIFT

    • General Ledger systems

    • FedWire

    • ACH

  • Develop cloud-native solutions utilizing AWS, containerization technologies, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps practices.

  • Design, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, database structures, ETL processes, and enterprise data integrations supporting trading operations, regulatory reporting, risk management, and analytics.

  • Partner with business users, quantitative analysts, risk management teams, operations, solution architects, and development teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

  • Support production releases, troubleshoot complex application issues, perform root cause analysis, and continuously improve platform performance, stability, and resiliency.

  • Optimize Calypso application performance through tuning, monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Participate in solution architecture reviews, technical design sessions, code reviews, and modernization initiatives while mentoring junior developers and promoting engineering best practices.

  • Contribute to CGI''s Capital Markets technology practice by identifying opportunities for automation, innovation, cloud modernization, and continuous improvement.


Required Qualifications

We''re seeking an experienced software engineer with deep Capital Markets expertise and a passion for building enterprise-scale trading platforms.

  • Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • 5+ years of enterprise software development experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on Calypso development within Capital Markets environments.

  • Strong experience customizing and extending the Calypso platform, including workflows, APIs, trade lifecycle processing, back-office operations, and enterprise integrations.

Advanced Proficiency With
  • Java

  • Spring Framework / Spring Boot

  • RESTful APIs

  • Microservices architecture

  • JBoss or comparable enterprise application servers

  • Experience designing secure, scalable, and highly available enterprise applications using modern software engineering and cloud architecture best practices.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills with experience supporting business-critical production systems.

  • Experience working within Agile delivery methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.

  • Experience integrating with financial messaging standards and payment networks including SWIFT, FedWire, and ACH.

  • Experience with Wall Street Systems, Nasdaq Spectrum, or other enterprise Capital Markets platforms is considered a strong plus.


Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with AWS cloud services and container orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Experience implementing event-driven architectures using Kafka or other enterprise messaging platforms.

  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.

  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, or Prometheus.

  • Financial industry certifications or Calypso platform certifications are a plus.
