The Equity Trader is primarily responsible for determining the method of trade, the brokerage firm to use and obtaining the best price and execution for equity trades. Additionally, the role requires conducting some equity research coverage. 

Required Licenses:  Series 65.

How You'll Spend Your Time
  • You will secure favorable terms for equity transactions by choosing the right brokers, timing, and trading systems.
  • You will analyze market trends, news, and economic events to determine the bestโ€‘performing products and pricing.
  • You will recommend and implement updates to internal policies, procedures, and programs to enhance trading efficiency and compliance.
  • You will ensure all trading practices align with regulatory requirements and complete monthly compliance reviews and reports.
  • You will oversee and execute lead equity, fixed income, and cash trades.
  • You will research settlement issues and perform portfolio analysis to recommend new investments or potential sales within your assigned sector.
Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a bachelorโ€™s degree and 1-3 years of experience in security trading.  Series 65 licenses required.

  • Advanced knowledge of equity securities, including mid and small cap stocks
  • Advanced knowledge of the capital investment markets
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent PC skills including word processing, database and spreadsheet applications
  • Proficiency with computer-based trading systems, especially Longview
  • Advanced developmental and analytical skills
  • Excellent people and process management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work under extreme pressures with strict time frames
  • Demonstrate a willingness to engage daily with street equity research sales teams and effectively share relevant information with the Portfolio Managers.
