Job description

Overview
Bassett Healthcare Network, in Central New York, is seeking an Ophthalmologist to join our staff.
  • Salary Range: $433,000 - $525,000
  • Sign-on Bonus: up to $100,000
  • Location: Cooperstown, NY
  • Residency/Fellowship Stipend: Up to $40,000

Job Description & Responsibilities:
  • Join an established group of 5 Ophthalmologists and 3 Optometrists
  • Current need is for high volume cataract surgeon-general ophthalmologist
  • Currently there are specialists in medical retina, pediatrics and glaucoma. Sub-specialty interest in glaucoma, oculoplastic, cornea and cataract surgery would be welcome
  • The support staff is well trained and experienced in both the clinic and operating room
  • On call is every 5th weekend and rarely busy
  • Practice within Bassett Healthcare Network, an integrated system delivering care across an 8-county region
  • Become a part of Bassett Healthcare Network, a progressive academic health system and major teaching affiliate of Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons

Requirements
  • MD, DO or MBBS
  • BE/BE in Ophthalmology
  • Completion of an accredited USA Ophthalmology
  • New York medical license (or eligibility to obtain)
  • BLS Certification Required

Benefits
Compensation
  • Salary Range: $433,000 - $525,000 plus performance-based compensation.
    • This compensation range represents Bassett Healthcare's good faith belief of the compensation range at the time of this posting or advertisement. Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards
  • Residency stipend up to $40,000 for up to 18 months prior to graduation
  • Sign-on Bonus up to $100,000
  • Bassett offers Physicians an incentive plan with no earnings cap. Individual performance and productivity can significantly enhance compensation with potential upside realized within the first year of employment
