Job Description:

  • Operate complex or specialized heavy equipment independently and efficiently
  • Perform routine pre-operation equipment inspections and upload documentation to the company system
  • Lead equipment operations on assigned projects or job sites
  • Interpret site drawings and execute work according to project specifications
  • Identify and proactively address operational risks or inefficiencies
  • Oversee equipment safety compliance and operational standards
  • Mentor and develop Operator I and Operator II team members
  • Coordinate with the site leadership to align equipment use with project timelines
  • Provide input on equipment needs, maintenance planning, and operational improvements
  • Ensure productivity targets and quality standards are met


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred
  • Must be CCO certified for mobile crane operations
  • 5+ years of advanced equipment operation experience including excavators, dozers, soil stabilizers, and motor graders
  • Expert-level proficiency operating heavy or specialized equipment
  • Strong working knowledge of site plans, grade specifications, and operational sequencing
  • Demonstrated leadership capability in field environments
  • Advanced understanding of safety regulations and risk mitigation practices
  • Ability to make independent decisions in high-pressure situations
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Proven ability to mentor and develop junior operators
