Position Summary:

We are seeking a Laser Laser Operator Helper for our client located in Decatur, AL. In this role, you will assist Laser operator & perform entry level or repetitive machine operation duties. Employee will work in extreme Heat & Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes and Metallic Particles. Employee will be exposed to the hazards of working with heavy machinery. Employee is required to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel toed boots with metatarsal and hearing protection. When using grinders a full-face shield is required in addition to safety glasses. A great opportunity to build your career with a leading company while enjoying steady hours and overtime potential.


Responsibilities:

  • Understands and follows all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Positions work pieces to be processed securely on machine, manually or using hoist or crane
  • Records information of work pieces processed
  • Marks/tags identification on material/work pieces
  • Marks material after processing; stores material for additional processing and/or shipping
  • Identifies equipment and material problems and advises machine operator
  • Cleans work area and lubricates equipment
  • May assist in performing quality control inspections on finished product
  • Occasionally tends machine for proper functioning and counts finished work pieces to determine if product order is complete
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
  • In a typical workday, employee is standing, walking, seeing, hearing, grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, lifting work pieces weighing up to forty (40) lbs. manually or by crane to work area and properly positioning it for processing the orders.

Requirements:

  • Basic reading and writing comprehension in English (to read instructions on picking tickets and cross-reference drawings, safety and policies manuals)
  • Basic measuring skills to read and convert English and Metric systems
  • Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions
  • Experience on overhead crane operation desired
  • Previous experience in related field such as construction, or fabrication helpful
  • Demonstrated manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination
  • Must have Forklift experience (side loader)
  • Must have HS Diploma
  • Must pass a Background & Drug Screen
  • Steeled-Toed Boots

Schedule & Pay

  • Shift: Shift: 2nd Shift – Monday–Friday 4:00PM–12:00AM
  • Pay: $18/hr plus overtime (if you work 160 regular hours in a month)
