The Laboratory Technician is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and reliable data to onsite researchers. The Laboratory Technician provides direct laboratory support to onsite researchers for a wide range of routine and non‐routine operations, with the expectation of making method or parameter adjustments based on observed results. This person performs quality assurance tests on company products, recordes test results, prepares laboratory reports, and provides technical support to researchers during additive selection and fluid design.

The Laboratory Technician uses a variety of laboratory equipment, including HTHP (High Temperature High Pressure) equipment, requiring a degree of acquired skills in drilling fluids and cement testing.

* Set up, operate, maintain and calibrate special equipment following manufacturer’s instructions with limited supervision.

* Ensure job deliverables are accurate and delivered on time.

* Ensure that laboratory equipment is in clean, working condition and that waste is regularly disposed. Perform routine calibration and maintenance on lab equipment following our safety standards* Maintain laboratory databases and prepare chemical samples.

* Perform regular audits to ensure the laboratory operates according to required standards.

* Assist the Design/Technical Engineer and Product Champions with technical support as required.

* Perform risk analysis before each task or job to identify and mitigate potential safety or quality concerns.

* Participate in HSE and Quality initiatives.

* Wear PPE and observe HSE policies.

* Maintain the required safety training.

Experience

2 year Associate Degree & 3 yrs of exp as HTHP in Cementing Laboratories

Experience with Equipment Maintenance and Calibration

Microsoft Office exp. excel and data entry, and report tracking
