Job description

Williams & Connolly LLP has an available position for an Operations Supervisor. Under the direction of the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for supervising the day-to-day activities of the mail room and the print/copy center. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Mentoring, supervising and developing the growth for operations clerks, print services clerks and leads;
* Assigning duties and ensuring timely, efficient operations;
* Responding to customer questions and resolving any issues regarding the day-to-day department activities;
* Monitoring email traffic for the department to ensure timely responses;
* Identifying and investigating repeat issues, processes and tasks and building systems and solutions that create efficiency and eliminate problems;
* Troubleshooting and contacting the appropriate vendor to repair department equipment;
* Ensuring that courier, FedEx and UPS reports are reviewed daily for undeliverable/delayed packages and for prompt notification to senders;
* Ensuring that print and copy jobs are completed in the manner prescribed and by the due time requested;
* Coordinating new employee training and staff refresher training on department equipment and procedures;
* Ensuring communication between leads and other operations staff is maintained as well as ensuring communication with staff on firm events is timely; and
* Provide timely feedback to the Operations Manager on day-to-day issues and provide ideas for department improvements.
The successful candidate must have a proven track record of being dependable and resourceful, have the ability to perceive and analyze problems, develop alternatives, and make recommendations. Candidate should have at least five to seven years of experience overseeing an office services department; be knowledgeable of FedEx, UPS and USPS rules, procedures and systems; have the ability to interact successfully with partners, employees, clients and vendors; possess strong communication, time management, conflict resolution, interpersonal, and proficient computer skills.
Candidates must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record as it may be necessary to drive the firm vehicle.
Work is performed in a professional office environment and requires the following:
* Ability to regularly traverse the department and all floors to check on department and all floors to review and recommend stocking procedures and inspect equipment.
* Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
* Repetitive movements, including typing on a keyboard and using a mouse.
* Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
* Bend, stoop, and reach to perform tasks.
* Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
The position is onsite and hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. with extended hours needed on a regular basis. This is an exempt position. The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $90,000 - $105,000. The final offer amount is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, years of experience, education, and other relevant skills and qualifications.
