MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Operations Research Analyst to join our team in Tampa, FL.
The Operations Research Analyst will leverage their strong technical background and knowledge to introduce quantitative and qualitative analysis to the decision-making processes by developing and applying probability models, statistical inference, simulations, optimizations, and economic models.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Using statistical analysis, simulations, predictive modeling, and other methods to analyze information in support of USSOCOM processes and decision-making.
  • Employing analytic and operational design methodologies to frame complex problems to help senior military and civilian leaders develop solutions and strategies.
  • Providing analytical support involving mathematical modeling, statistical methods, and operational mathematics techniques such as game theory and probability theory.
  • Transforming raw data into information and recommendations by gathering and identifying data variables within models using qualitative and quantitative tests.
  • Researching, designing, and implementing algorithms to solve complex problems while programming in R, Python, or similar analytical languages.
  • Using frameworks such as Spark and Hadoop to conduct large-scale data processing and creating data visualizations using Tableau, Power BI, or R Shiny.
  • Applying systems thinking and value-focused thinking to facilitate clear force employment and resourcing decisions across tactical, operational, and strategic levels.
  • Conducting and supporting studies, war-games, and modeling efforts to assist decision makers in framing and solving complex problems.
  • Refining and developing methods to display data and findings to facilitate senior leaders quickly grasping key findings from analytic work.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, or related math discipline; OR a Bachelor's Degree in the same fields with 4 years of experience in Operations Research and Analysis in military matters.
  • 5+ years of experience preparing written products for senior leader use and communicating at all levels in a highly professional manner.
  • Experience conducting both quantitative and qualitative analysis and applying scientific methodology to discover and frame relevant problems.
  • Proficiency in programming using R or Python (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas) and using data visualization tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with the Sponsor's primary cyber risk and compliance automation tools.

Clearance Requirements:
  • An active Secret clearance is required with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
