POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The AmeriCorps Florida Youth College Program Development Coordinator will be responsible for leading the planning, development, implementation, and coordination of a new statewide AmeriCorps initiative serving youth within the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice residential facilities. The coordinator will establish the operational framework to recruit, onboard, train, support, and supervise up to 20 AmeriCorps members who will assist youth residential facilities with developing JROTC-related programming, military exploration, career and technical education support, tutoring, workforce readiness activities, and youth leadership development.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under limited supervision, the position will coordinate volunteer placements across residential facilities statewide, and will plan, organize and lead the CTE Educational and Military Pathways for Success Program.

Will partner with residential programs to determine interest in the program, and develop standardized operating procedures, program policies, implementation plans, and timelines for participating facilities.

Additionally, we will coordinate with external partners including CareerSource Florida network of local workforce development boards, organizations that support military and educational pathways, and other community stakeholders, to ensure the program is informed by workforce needs and aligned with available career opportunities for justice impacted youth.

Responsibilities may include assisting in the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of additional AmeriCorps members. This includes outreach efforts over a variety of platforms, including fairs, events, and other networks.

Responsible for developing, creating and managing service descriptions and postings, applicant tracking, managing, communication, and initial screening as needed.

Conduct site visits throughout the State of Florida, provides and tracks input and feedback to continually improve military pathway program outcomes.

Develop and maintain relationships with partners, stakeholders and staff.

Assist with program staffing, orientation plan, training calendar, partnership development and structure, and data collection including performance measures, developing the final logic model and performance measurement instruments in preparation and submission of the Operational Grant Application in eGrants.

Assist with coordinating budget expenditures and preparing invoices for payment and with partner site payments and agreements.

Maintain AmeriCorps Resources manuals, Google Drives, social media platforms including website, branding, marketing, and ordering supplies.

Collect, maintains, tracks, and submits timesheets, submits quarterly reports, attends trainings, submits evaluations, intake and exit records, and archives.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of project management principles, practices and procedures. 

Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to project management to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments; to utilize problem solving techniques; to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; to design and implement accounting systems as needed; to work independently. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must have military service, ROTC experience, or experience working in or with military environments and operations.

Must have the ability to travel.

Possess a valid driver's license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor's degree from a college or university in education, public administration, business administration, or a related field.

Three years of project or contract management experience, preferably within an educational context or equivalent experience. 

Experience reviewing and evaluating contracts, budgets and related deliverables for content accuracy and alignment with standards.
