We are seeking an Aftermarket Americas Project Operations Manager to join our dynamic Aftermarket business. In this role, you will lead the execution of our AFM Parts business, directly overseeing Project Managers and Project Coordinators while partnering cross-functionally to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to customer satisfaction.
This role can be in office or hybrid at one of the following locations: Buffalo, NY; Medina, OH; Stafford, TX.
What Will You Do?
  • Provide strategic and tactical guidance to the project management team to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to the customer's satisfaction
  • Lead and manage a geographically dispersed (remote/hybrid) team, driving accountability, visibility, and engagement through effective virtual leadership practices
  • Establish clear expectations, performance standards, and measurable objectives to drive accountability and performance in a remote environment
  • Assist with escalation management, problem solving, and prioritization to remove barriers and maintain project momentum
  • Lead team meetings, oversee key reporting metrics and analysis, and ensure accountability to defined KPIs and performance objectives
  • Attract, develop, and retain employees through coaching, mentoring, and regular performance feedback
  • Support development practices tailored to remote team dynamics and ensure team proficiency in project management, customer service, communication, and product and market knowledge
  • Partner with Sales, Proposals, Quality, Engineering, Finance, IT, HR, Legal, and Supply Chain to align strategies and execution
  • Facilitate collaboration across distributed teams to ensure consistent communication, alignment, and successful handoffs
  • Coordinate with legal, sales, proposals, global trade, compliance, and supply chain teams on contract terms, compliance requirements, tariffs, and invoicing execution
  • Provide guidance to ensure alignment on terms, conditions, and project execution expectations
  • Promote and sustain a culture of continuous improvement across the organization
  • Establish and track departmental KPIs using data-driven insights and problem solving tools to improve performance, operational efficiency, and On-Time Delivery
  • Ensure operational continuity by proactively identifying and mitigating risks to project delivery, customer satisfaction, and financial performance
  • Implement structured escalation protocols and contingency plans to maintain business continuity and project momentum
  • Monitor adherence to internal policies, industry regulations, and contractual obligations
  • Partner with internal audit and compliance teams to ensure alignment, accountability, and consistent execution
  • Contribute to the development and execution of strategic plans, including sourcing strategies, advanced manufacturing initiatives, and process improvements aligned with Chart's long-term goals
  • Translate high-level objectives into actionable plans across a distributed team
  • Oversee prioritization and resource allocation across multiple projects to maximize efficiency, delivery performance, and alignment with business priorities
  • Act as a key point of contact for strategic customers, ensuring a high level of satisfaction, trust, and service delivery
  • Facilitate feedback loops to continuously improve the customer experience and strengthen relationships
  • Prepare and present performance updates, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
  • Provide visibility into team performance, project health, and overall business outcomes

Your Experience Should Be...
  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant business background, including leadership of remote or distributed teams and demonstrated ability to build accountability-driven, high-performing, and engaged teams in a virtual environment.
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience managing project margins, variance, and cash flow projections. Experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement environments, with proven success improving On-Time Delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with strong stakeholder management and leadership presence across remote settings. Advanced problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, including the ability to manage competing priorities, resolve escalations, and identify root causes.
  • Proven ability to assess complex issues, drive accountability, and deliver actionable outcomes. Experience working across global cultures with strong virtual collaboration skills, and the ability to influence and lead without direct authority in a matrixed organization.
  • High ethical standards, teamwork, safety focus, and compliance with regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.

Desired
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in project management with leadership responsibility across multiple teams or product lines. Experience managing remote project managers in a matrix organization.
  • Experience in rotating equipment, OEM environments, or similar engineering-focused industries. Experience with installation, commissioning, overhaul services, or heavy industrial products.
  • Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent). Demonstrated ability to drive team engagement, accountability, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Experience working through a sales representative network and acting as a liaison between business, customers, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Proven ability to improve operational metrics including On-Time Delivery, project margins, and vendor performance.
