Job description

You'll drive strategic projects that shape the future of rapid delivery services while collaborating with diverse teams across the organization.
Sub-Same Day Distribution Center (SSD-DC) Ops Initiatives team is looking for a Sr. Program Manager with a delivery record and proven program management experience to own and execute strategic, cross-functional operations and technology projects for our faster than Same Day operations. Robust understanding of fulfillment operations including capacity planning, under-the-roof processes, material flow, , and long-term roadmaps will help drive ops initiatives. This role ensures maximum site throughput capacity through optimized material flow, layout design and cross-functional collaboration. It requires a high-level of ownership for end-to-end process, the ability to think outside of the box, willingness to disrupt the current processes to create a new process, the ability to design sustainable solutions and influence stakeholders.
Key job responsibilities
- Collecting and analyzing feedback from operations and support teams
- Optimizing flow and layout designs with engineering teams based on site operation's insights and collaborating with engineering teams
- Partnering with cross-functional teams (Procurement, WHS, Finance, LP, RME)
- Supporting new site launches and retrofit projects and ensuring adherence to SSD DC design standards
- Executing ops integration launch tasks for launch sites
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives and staying informed about industry best practices
- Supporting timely delivery of project timelines, and mitigating potential risks
- Maintaining documentation of learnings from launch and retrofit initiatives and facilitating knowledge sharing with site operations.
- Managing stakeholder relationships and communications
The Sr. Program Manager will also demonstrate:
- Confidence operating in a highly ambiguous and iterative business space
- High attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
- Willingness to challenge and influence big leaders
- Ability to think strategically and execute methodically
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired
- Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills and ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases

About the team
SSD is an essential function in NA Amazon and provides a fast, convenient, and 'delivery in hours' service to Amazon's customers. SSD network is designed and built to fulfill the speed-sensitive products to Amazon's customers in close proximity and allow for delivery in as little as 5-hours. SSD DCs distribute the selected high velocity inventory into the SSD FCs and allows the optimization of inventory and maximize the product selection for customers while minimizing the variable cost through operational excellence and technology.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in management, business administration, economics, engineering, marketing
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel (macros, pivots, lookups) at an advanced level
- 3+ years of cross functional project delivery experience
- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
- 2+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
