Job description

Youth Consultation Service (YCS) is seeking a dedicated and motivated Program Coordinator to join our team. This role provides leadership and oversight within the program, ensuring high-quality care, youth engagement, and support. The Program Coordinator serves as the Shift Supervisor and facilitates required psychoeducational and milieu-based activities in accordance with agency and state standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily program operations as Shift Supervisor.
  • Participate in monthly treatment team meetings.
  • Monitor youth transition plans and follow up to prevent delays.
  • Conduct youth orientation within the first 24 hours of admission.
  • Facilitate daily milieu activities and weekly community integration outings.
  • Provide direct youth supervision and support.
  • Ensure staff provide pre-vocational skills training per IOS standards.
  • Deliver or ensure delivery of weekly psychoeducational groups (pro-social skills, life skills, coping strategies, problem-solving, etc.).
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Ansell Casey or Botvin Life Skills training (3 hours weekly as applicable).
  • Review and respond to all incident reports during assigned shifts.
  • Collaborate professionally with all internal departments.
  • Cooperate with regulatory agencies (OOL, Medicaid, CARF) during inspections or investigations, ensuring timely, truthful, and compliant participation.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Strong supervisory and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills.
  • Ability to multitask and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to prioritize and delegate.
  • Proficiency with computers and documentation requirements.
  • Valid New Jersey driver’s license and ability to transport youth as needed.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or
  • Unlicensed Master’s level practitioner with 1 year of related experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must successfully complete background checks, registry checks, drug testing, physical exam, and meet annual compliance requirements.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to travel between program locations when necessary.
