Job Summary and Qualifications

Provides leadership and coordination of Emergency Management for Mission Hospital including preparedness, planning, mitigation, response, and recovery activities to maintain compliance with requirements and guidelines of national, state, local and regional regulatory and advisory agencies. (i.e. The Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, National Incident Management System, DHHS Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response, FEMA, NCOEMS, NCHA) Supervises assigned employees and oversees daily operations, programs and activities related to Emergency Management consistent with direction of SVP/COO of Mission.

Essential Accountabilities:

  • Leads the development and annual review of the Emergency Operations Plans (EOP) for Mission Hospital.
  • Facilitates hospital compliance with Joint Commission Emergency Management standards, including staff education, performance improvement measures, exercises and drills
  • Provides support to the Hospital Command Center during emergency incidents.
  • Represents the hospital at local, regional and state level preparedness and planning meetings.
  • Supervises daily operations of Emergency Management at Mission Hospital. 
  • Leads integration of Emergency Management programs throughout the hospital. 
What qualifications you will need:

Required Education: Bachelorโ€™s degree in Emergency Medical Service, Nursing, or related field. Completion of IC 100, 200, 700 and 800 within one year of accepting position. 

Required License: North Carolina Paramedic Certification or North Carolina RN license, North Carolina driverโ€™s license. (Must meet insurance guidelines.) 

Preferred License: National Registry for Paramedics, BLS, ACLS, BTLS and PALS. Certified EMS Instructor. 

Required Experience: Minimum 5 years of prior emergency services management experience and EMS instructional experience
