The Position
The SOC Supervisor leads day-to-day physical security operations across one or more data centre and critical infrastructure facilities in Spartanburg County, SC. This role oversees SOC-assigned guard force personnel within a client-vendor structure, ensuring compliance with internal security requirements and consistent execution of company processes and policies. The SOC Supervisor is the primary escalation point for all SOC matters including incidents, personnel issues, system events, and operational exceptions. This role partners with Facilities, Operations, Site Management, Safety, and the Director of Integrated Operational Security and Crisis Management, and serves as the key liaison between the site SOC and the company Global Security Operations Centre (GSOC).
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and hold accountable SOC-assigned guard force personnel, ensuring compliance with internal policies, post orders, and contractual performance requirements.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for all SOC matters including physical security incidents, personnel concerns, system events, and operational exceptions; ensure timely resolution and escalation to leadership.
  • Oversee monitoring and operation of all physical security systems including Genetec Security Centre, Video Management Systems (VMS), PACS, perimeter intrusion detection, and alarm management across a large-scale, multi-system surveillance environment.
  • Lead and mature the SOC Drone Operations program; supervise UAS deployments and operator performance, deliver hands-on training, and ensure all operations comply with established protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive consistent execution of internal processes and policies across all shifts; identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce SOC SOPs, post orders, and escalation protocols specific to data centre and critical infrastructure environments.
  • Conduct shift briefings and periodic off-hours check-ins to keep all personnel aligned on site conditions, operational changes, visitor schedules, and standing orders.
  • Manage scheduling, performance monitoring, and training coordination for a team of 12 or more Security Operators.
  • Audit access logs, cardholder databases, and credential issuance to ensure access control systems are operating correctly across all sites.
  • Review video footage and alarm data to identify anomalies, ensure surveillance coverage integrity, and support investigation triage.
  • Lead initial investigation triage for security incidents and policy violations; hand off completed triage packages to the Manager of Security Operations for full investigative completion.
  • Provide basic-level support for Threat, Vulnerability, and Risk Assessments (TVRA) using available tools and in coordination with relevant internal teams.
  • Participate in customer visits, onsite audits (compliance, insurance, regulatory), and security reviews; maintain accurate records to support audit readiness.
  • Serve as the site SOC liaison to the company GSOC, ensuring consistent information sharing, escalation alignment, and operational continuity.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency services, and third-party vendors during incidents, drills, and audits.
  • Track and report SOC KPIs and operational metrics; provide regular status updates to leadership.
  • Participate in emergency response drills, evacuation exercises, and business continuity planning.
  • Partner with Facilities and Critical Infrastructure teams to respond to physical security events affecting power, cooling, and other mission-critical systems.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in a data centre, critical infrastructure (power, utilities, telecommunications), or comparably regulated high-security environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Genetec Security Centre or comparable enterprise VMS and access control platforms.
  • Proficiency with PACS and IP-based surveillance technologies in a multi-site environment.
  • Strong incident management skills with experience producing clear incident reports, daily activity logs, and after-action reviews.
  • Working knowledge of data centre physical security requirements including tiered access zones, man-trap operations, and visitor management protocols.
  • Experience supervising guard force personnel within a client-vendor framework including performance management and vendor accountability.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
