Job description

Do you possess strong customer service and organizational skills, have experience working in performance or recreational facilities, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced public setting? If so, then the Town of Bridgewater’s Sipe Center Performance Manager position may be the right opportunity for you!

Role

Bridgewater is a growing and active community with a commitment to “A Better Life.” As a part of that, the Town operates Sipe Center as a municipal theater. The Performance Manager will oversee the daily operations of the 154-seat venue including live performances, movie showings, and private events. This position will serve as the primary on-site supervisor responsible for facility operations, guest services, scheduling, program support, and staff management. The Manager will supervise a combination of part-time and full-time facility staff while maintaining a welcoming, safe, and well-organized environment for all visitors.

But working for the Town of Bridgewater is not a solo performance! Along with the other two recreation managers, the Performance Manager will develop the Town's Rec program as a group. The managers will need to collaborate on projects, and the Performance Manager will have occasional duties at Wellness Quarter, Generations Park, and Sandy Bottom Mini-Golf in support of the group.

Compensation

The Performance Manager is a full-time P6 position with a salary range of $24.00 - $38.25 per hour (equivalent to $49,920 - $79,560 annually); however, the hiring salary will be dependent upon the selected candidate's qualifications/experience and will be in the lower half of that range. The Town offers excellentbenefits including health and dental insurance, VRS retirement, and vacation and sick leave.

Hours

The Sipe Center Box Office is regularly open Thursday through Sunday from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm and additional days on a seasonal basis. The Performance Manager’s schedule will be built around ensuring quality operations during those times and will be discussed and finalized during the interview process.

Responsibilities

As the Performance Manager, you’ll:

  • Oversee daily operations of Sipe Center
  • Supervise and coordinate part-time and full-time facility staff
  • Schedule, promote, and oversee live performances and movie showings
  • Promote and facilitate private parties
  • Plan and coordinate other community events such as open mic nights and video game tournaments
  • Welcome and assist guests
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure cleanliness, organization, and proper equipment condition
  • Ensure compliance with Virginia Department of Health, ABC licensing, and movie production company regulations
  • Communicate with Town staff regarding maintenance, scheduling, and operational needs
  • Assist with opening, closing, and facility security procedures
  • Ensure accurate reports of cash drawer balances
  • Provide excellent customer service and promote a positive community atmosphere
  • Demonstratehands-onleadership, contributing wherever needed to ensure a quality guest experience
  • Collaborate with and provide support to other recreation managers
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in hospitality, customer service, or facility operations (preferred)
  • Prior supervisory or staff management experience (preferred)
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic knowledge of performance facility operations and safety practices (preferred)
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends frequently
  • Proficiency with basic computer programs and scheduling systems (preferred)
