Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Operations Manager to oversee the daily coordination of our environmental and industrial field services. This position will manage personnel, equipment, scheduling, safety, regulatory compliance, project execution, and job profitability while maintaining a high level of customer service. The ideal candidate is organized, decisive, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities may change throughout the day. 
Responsibilities 
  • Oversee all operational aspects of the business
  • Create strategic and operational goals and objectives
  • Implement systems, processes, and procedures to increase efficiency and profitability
  • Ensure crews arrive prepared with the correct equipment, PPE, permits, manifests, and project documentation
  • Maintain compliance with DOT, DTSC, OSHA/Cal/OSHA, HAZWOPER, confined-space, and hazardous-waste transportation requirements 
  • Monitor job progress, labor hours, equipment usage, disposal costs, and overall project profitability
  • Respond to operational issues, emergencies, customer changes, and equipment breakdowns with practical solutions
  • Verify that daily reports, driver paperwork, manifests, disposal receipts, timecards, and job documentation are complete and accurate 
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management of operations personnel
  • Maintain a strong safety culture while meeting customer schedules and financial objective
  • Be available for occasional after-hours or emergency-response coordination  
Qualifications
  • At least five years of operations, environmental services, industrial services, waste transportation, construction, or logistics management experience. 
  • Experience supervising field crews and coordinating trucks and heavy equipment. 
  • Working knowledge of hazardous-waste transportation and workplace safety requirements. 
  • Strong scheduling, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. 
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and scheduling or project-management software. 
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. 
  • HAZWOPER, confined-space, DOT or related environmental certifications are preferred. 
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred.
