About Co-Dough

Co-Dough is a fast-growing sourdough bakery in Newport, Rhode Island built around quality, consistency, and creating an exceptional customer experience. What started as a small bakery has quickly grown into a high-volume operation, and we're looking for the right leader to help us continue building the business.

We're not looking for someone to simply manage a shift. We're looking for someone who takes ownership, leads by example, solves problems, and helps maintain the standards that have made Co-Dough successful.

The Role

The Bakery Operations Manager is responsible for helping oversee the day-to-day operation of the bakery, including both production and front of house.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll work alongside the team while ensuring production stays on schedule, quality standards are maintained, employees are supported, and daily operations run smoothly.
The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, detail-oriented, and able to make decisions independently. They take pride in their work, hold themselves and others accountable, and are always looking for ways to improve efficiency, quality, and consistency.
As Co-Dough continues to grow, this person will play a key role in helping build systems, train employees, improve processes, and strengthen daily operations.
Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily bakery operations and ensure shifts run efficiently
  • Maintain and enforce product quality standards throughout the day
  • Ensure recipes, procedures, and SOPs are followed consistently
  • Monitor production timelines and adjust priorities as needed
  • Hold team members accountable to performance, cleanliness, and operational standards
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and development of employees
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement improvements
  • Serve as the communication bridge between production and front of house teams
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment at all times
  • Receive and verify deliveries, inventory, and supplies
  • Communicate operational issues, staffing concerns, and opportunities directly to ownership
  • Lead by example and help create a positive, accountable, high-performance culture
  • Step into any area of the operation when needed to support the team and ensure success

  • Previous leadership experience in a bakery, restaurant, food production, hospitality, or similar environment
