Mills Construction, Inc. (MCI) in Brookings, SD is currently offering a full-time position for a Construction Superintendent

JOB TYPE: Full Time

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

POSITION LOCATION: Brookings, SD โ€“ with projects within a 75-mile radius

Mills Construction is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on commercial projects in Brookings and within a 75-mile radius. This is a handsโ€‘on leadership roleโ€”our Superintendents work alongside crews, lead by example, and take ownership of project success.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee all day-to-day jobsite operations
  • Work alongside crews as needed (toolbelt on)
  • Lead and support field crew
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and inspections
  • Ensure projects stay on schedule, within budget, and meet quality standards
  • Maintain and enforce safety standards
  • Communicate with Project Managers, Owners, and team members
  • Identify and resolve issues to keep projects moving
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 6+ years of construction experience
  • 3+ years in a supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge of commercial, wood, and steel construction
  • Proven leadership and team coordination skills
  • Ability to read plans and manage schedules
