Accounts Payable Manager (Non-Profit)
Location: Remote (Must be based in the Washington, DC metro area)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Overview
Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is partnering with a mission-driven non-profit organization seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to lead and optimize the AP function.
This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with strong NetSuite expertise who can manage day-to-day AP operations while driving process improvements in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee full-cycle accounts payable operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
  • Manage and mentor AP staff, providing guidance and oversight on daily activities
  • Review and approve invoices, payments, and expense reports
  • Maintain and improve AP workflows, controls, and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and non-profit accounting requirements
  • Partner with accounting and finance teams on:
    • Month-end close and accrual processes
    • Vendor management and payment schedules
    • Audit support and documentation
  • Leverage NetSuite to drive reporting, efficiency, and process improvements
  • Support ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in accounts payable, with leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong experience with NetSuite required
  • Background in non-profit accounting highly preferred
  • Solid understanding of AP processes, controls, and compliance standards
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
