Salary Grade: $116,800 - $154,800

Job Summary:

The Maintenance & Reliability Manager is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for all maintenance and reliability activities within the plant. This role focuses on enhancing plant performance by applying data-driven maintenance practices that support key operational goals, including process safety, environmental compliance, product quality, productivity, and cost efficiency. The leader collaborates across departments to ensure maintenance efforts align with broader plant objectives and drive continuous improvement. 

Job Duties:

Day to Day support (75%)

   Effectively assigns daily maintenance resources to maintain plant and minimize downtime, ensures completion of all planned work with minimal overtime or rework and in full compliance with all regulations.
   Manages maintenance team performance through performance reviews (PMP) and regular feedback/communication to maximize effectiveness and create a positive environment; ensures team receives training and development in key areas. 
   Partners with Operations and Process Technical Departments to ensure plant priorities are met, respecting the budget and production planning.
   Evaluates multiple scenarios to determine the most cost-effective solutions. 
   Provide technical support for specification, identification and purchasing of needed parts and work packages. 
   Manages contractor program to ensure safety and work performed meets requirements of plant policies. 
   Manages all maintenance capital project activity according to the Arkema Stage-Gate process and ensures installations are in compliance with applicable codes.
   Develops and implements preventive maintenance procedures; ensures MI and PM standards and procedures are followed. Ensures repair procedures, and equipment specific training are documented and followed. 
   Oversee plant reliability for long-term production optimization while continuously reducing cost through improved equipment operation, maintenance and upgrades.
   Keeps VIS analysis of building equipment and utilities up to date, focusing on impact of failure (risk ranking) and mitigation strategy (information on spare part availability).
   Abides by terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and properly responds to grievances
   Participates in Management of Change process; ensures NOC and PSSR compliance.
   Participates as Team member 

Administrative (15%)
   Develops and manages maintenance and assigned capital budgets (annual and 3-5 yr. plans) within company guidelines 
   Drives continuous improvement of maintenance department using appropriate KPIs.
   Maintains accurate KRONOS information for payroll.
   Serves as Site Key Control coordinator.

Safety Management: (10%)
   Ensure timely completion of investigations and completion of actions generated from HES programs. 
   Responsible for the safe operation of maintenance works (including contractors) and vehicles (incl. fork trucks).
   Supports the site HESQ policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements.
   Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SWAT, etc.).
   Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience in plant maintenance and reliability management preferably in chemical, petrochemical, or hazardous materials industries, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • BS in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; Master degree preferred 
  • Six sigma certification and/or experience in Lean Six Sigma Operational Excellence implementation preferred.
  • Mechanical Integrity inspector certification highly desired.
  • Excellent communications decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Project management skills - Stage Gate Project Development process
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical Integrity and reliability 
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing multidisciplinary teams and high-hazard maintenance activities. 
  • Advanced MS Office Skills; SAP experience desired.
