As an Associate Manager, Operations Management CC330 at L3Harris MAS you will work closely with the Operations Manager to direct, manage, organize, prioritize and lead a group of unionized employees dedicated to operations. You will coordinate efforts of specialists from within the Operations team and will be a key member responsible for the overall delivery of the CC330 in Service Support contract - which may include oversight and support of other project deliverables. 

You will promote the values of L3Harris within your work teams to promote professional culture and ensure care for maintenance. You will ensure that teams work in accordance with our AMO accreditation from DTAES, (Directorate of Technical Airworthiness and Engineering Support), aviation procedures, policies and regulations.  Given the frequency of flight assignments, you will actively manage personnel fatigue risk on a daily basis and collaborate closely with a robust, high-performing Quality Assurance program.

Essential Functions:

  • Actively contribute to the implementation of the CC330 program in Trenton, Ontario, including participation in recruitment, facility setup, and coordination of deliverables, along with other activities critical to program success;
  • Support the pursuit of AMO DTAES accreditation by developing, reviewing, and refining Aircraft Maintenance Procedures and associated airworthiness documentation;
  • Represent operations at various meetings, establishing and maintaining professional relations with the program team and with various clients and stakeholders to identify challenges, limitations, constraints and risks while providing operational solutions to complex problems.  Manage emergencies and work on contingencies to minimize operational impacts; and
  • In close consultation with Operations Manager, work to continuously Improve Operational Structure and Efficiencies, and through training and oversight ensure adherence to policy and procedures.  Close collaboration with Licensed Planner, QA, Engineering, PRAA (Person Responsible for Assigning Authority), Programs Manager, and Operations Manager to ensure Airworthiness, Training, Currency, Projects, and Customer Satisfaction Key Performance Indicators are met or exceeded.

Health Security:

  • Carry out monthly inspections and follow-up on corrective actions;
  • Prepare and participate in OHS committee meetings and follow up actions;
  • Complete accident / incident reports; and
  • Assist L3 auditors during their visits and follow-up on actions.

Quality:

  • Respond and document corrective action requests (CARs);
  • Create and update departmental procedures and ensure employees follow them;
  • Participate and encourage employees to propose continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Follow up on improvement measures; and
  • Promote the RISE program.

Operations:

  • Establish and communicate the priorities of the day;
  • Track completion of maintenance with help from the maintenance planner;
  • Facilitate daily team meetings;
  • Approve timesheets;
  • Plan and coordinate training requirements;
  • Represent operations during daily meetings, teleconferences, etc;
  • Manage overtime required on a daily basis;
  • Approve travel requests and expense accounts;
  • Apply collective bargaining agreement; and
  • Coordinate computer problems with IT department.

Qualifications:

  • College or undergraduate degree in a relevant field of competence, such as engineering, AME, mechanics or aeronautics;
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in operations management;
  • Experience in team supervision (unionized employees an asset);
  • Ability to make decisions quickly and take action;
  • Customer-oriented and results oriented while adopting a "win-win" approach;
  • Ability to inspire employees and collaborators in a positive manner;
  • Good oral and written communication skills in both languages (French and English), an asset;
  • Sense of work organization and priority management;
  • Knowledge of labor relations; and
  • Knowledge of laws and policies related to the environment, health and safety at work.

Operational requirements:

  • Must be eligible for registration to the Controlled Goods Program; and
  • Must be eligible to obtaining and maintaining the government of Canada's "Reliability" status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.
