SECTION 1: JOB SUMMARY

  • Contributes as an entry to developing individual associate who works under close supervision.
  • Helps implement projects, programs, and processes in support of the organization's overall
  • Manufacturing Process Improvement strategy. Applies theoretical knowledge of the
  • Manufacturing Process Improvement field to carry out procedures and plans for the area.
  • Entry to developing individual contributor, who works under close supervision. Applies project
  • management skills, tools, and techniques to manage the project and program scope, quality,
  • schedule, budget, resources, and risk. Serves as primary contact for client and team queries
  • and concerns. Under the guidance of the Manufacturing Manager and/or Maintenance Manager,
  • the Operational Excellence Specialist supports the execution of site operational excellence
  • priorities by maintaining portfolio data integrity, coordinating purchasing activities, supporting
  • safety initiatives and programs, and facilitating continuous improvement efforts. The position
  • assists in tracking projects, CIPs, invoices, and key performance metrics to ensure alignment
  • with site goals and business objectives.

SECTION 2: DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and CorporateJohnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:
Helps execute programs and innovative initiatives for the Manufacturing ProcessImprovement area, under direct supervision.
Contributes to less complex components of projects, programs, or processes for the Manufacturing Process Improvement area.
Performs simple trend analyses to support continuous improvement of the organization's
Manufacturing Process Improvement strategy.
Documents the development of new manufacturing processes and improvements to existing
processes that maximize production capabilities and affordability.
Understands and applies Johnson & Johnson's Credo and Leadership Imperatives in dayto-day interactions with team.
This job does not require any experience. This job is overtime eligible.
Analyzes basic departmental expenditures and spend data to identify cost savingopportunities.
Support portfolio data integrity and data entry
Actively support safety initiatives and programs as per example good saves and safetyCAPAs
Assist in creating and tracking safety and housekeeping work orders.
Identifies and adheres to contract terms, compliance requirements and project management
methodologies for assigned projects.
Contributes to the implementation of systems that analyze, monitor, and track cost-spenddata, assess risk-benefit ratios, and provide insight on business impact.
Builds relationships with internal customers and works to identify their sourcing and projectmanagement needs.
Assists in the drafting of Requests for Proposals and quotes.
Carries out research pertaining to new project management tools and software that couldoptimize project management processes.
Identifies, maintains and monitors the Risks, Actions, Issues and Decisions (RAID) log.
Leads small kaizens with cross functional teams to assure causes of nonconformance are
identified and understood and that sound corrective/preventive actions are implemented.
Provides recommendations for the enhancement of processes and systems. Utilizesdocument change control system to update procedures and write protocols.
Implements corrections and process improvements.
Provides training and education to the manufacturing team(s) as needed
Acts in accordance with safety regulations and procedures.
Supports internal and external audits and inspections.
Comply with all job specific safety procedures and utilize PPE when necessary.
Comply with quality system requirements as defined within procedures and instructions.
Utilize applicable software systems as needed for the job (e.g. ComplianceWire, ADAPTIV,
etc.)
Consistently meet required work performance targets (RE's), if applicable
Support LEAN and Six Sigma Initiatives.
Support Maintenance Excellence (ME2) including 6S and Operator Asset Care.
Accurately complete records as defined within the job procedures (e.g. manual and/or
electronic documentation).
Consistently meet required Training due date targets.
Knowledge of processes and procedures within area of responsibility.
Maintains strong partnership with manufacturing, engineering, QA, and maintenance teams.
Willingness to travel to finishing plants if needed for investigations or for training as needed.
Follow current compliance regulations and standards
Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to nextmanagement level
Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety andEnvironmental practices as applicable.
For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinatesfollow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices andthat all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, localand Company regulations, policies, and procedures
Performs other duties assigned as needed

SECTION 3: EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

High school education or G.E.D. required.
Two-Year technical degree inSciences, Math,Applied ManufacturingTechnology, similar
related degree, equivalent formal training, or equivalent manufacturing experience related to
job requirements.
Experience in the QSR/ISO regulated medical device operation preferred.
Generally Requires 0-2 Years Work Experience

SECTION 4: REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSESand AFFILIATIONS
Strong computer skills and use of software application(s). Experience with Word and
Excel required. Experience with Minitab preferred.
Mechanical aptitude helpful.
Basic statistical and analytical problem- solving skills required; experience with
problem solving tools such as DMAIC, FishboneAnalysis, 5 Whys is preferred.
Proficient in the preparation of technical reports and presentations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Requires good networking and influencing skills.
Entails significant interaction with technical peers and manufacturing associates.
Self-motivated and capable of completing job duties with limited supervision.
Be able to work independently and in teams.
